Exclamation Windows 7 Digital Download -> Bootable Disk

If you purchased the $30 Student upgrade** from DigitalRiver, this is how to create a bootable disk so you can do a completely clean install (formatting the drive to get rid of Vista (edit: or XP) completely).

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...udent-d-l.html

Suggestions:
-First install 7 from within Vista and test out how it works with the drivers you need, especially your mobo's drivers

-Don't copy and paste any of the stuff you need to type into the command prompt, I got error after error until I typed it in myself

-If you decided to first try out 7 after doing the upgrade from within Vista, download the tool Microsoft offers (near the bottom of the post in the guide) to create the bootable disk from within 7 itself

-Don't get aggravated if when you're running the setup from the bootable disk if it looks like it froze, be patient, it happens at least twice where it just hangs for a few minutes, grab a bear, smoke or a porno, whatever.

If you need help just post here or PM myself or dyehead, he was successful with this as well

** this runs until edit: Jan 3rd. If you want the Pro version, you need to click the "I need to join my school's domain" (or some shit like that) on the order page (it'll take you to the Home Premium page by default). You need a .edu address to qualify, if you are a student and don't have one, they make you jump through a few hoops to get it.
