well Folks,
I just wish to post a huge thank you to everyone who went out of their way to make me feel welcome on my visit to California. (My first ever visit to the USA)
MuddPuppy-just too much to thank you for. Your home and hospitality was far beyond what was expected. YOU and your family were amazing.
Meeting many of you at the Hallowe'en party was almost overwhelming. I apologize if I wasn't able to spend more time visiting with each of you that night. Every time I turned around there was someone to talk with, joke with and laugh with. I felt so welcomed and the hugs in person were well worth the trip. Every one of you greeted me with honest smiles and genuine warmth. I just cannot express how welcomed I felt. Thank you all so much. (PS-thanks for doing the beer run Sunday morning Ratt, it was good to hang about "aboot" on Sunday with Cowboy, Ratt, Dirt Devil, Askee, Norman and Puppy and play pool)
Billy-that painting is amazing and I cannot wait when it arrives so I can hang it in my office. Thank you so much. It was obvious you put a lot of effort into it and no words can express how grateful I am for that. (The Gin was good too! :) )
Rommel-thank you so much for the etchings and drawings. I'll have the tree sketch framed for my wall. It was thoughtful of you to bring some of your work for me to keep.
Burners-so nice of you to bring me a miners hat for my costume. LOL. I have to say that thing came in handy all night. Just click the light and I was able to see when I needed to.
DH, Zone, Puppy and Burners-Disney...too much to say. I had so much fun that day and you all made it perfect. Supper after at Taco Joe's was incredibly fun and even though it was not my birthday...I enjoyed my "unbirthday cake" very much. Took a few days for my voice to recover from laughing too much. Always a good sign that I had too much fun. Such a shame I could not fit my balloon hat in my suitcase LOL.
BB, Mori, Norman- Going to Palm Springs, the Tram ride, dinner, supper and hookah . WOW. (thank your brother for joining us BB, it was nice to have met him) What a fun day. It was nice to just have time to visit with you BB on the ride to Palm Springs to pick up Norman and getting treated to Hookah was the best Mori! Thanks! (Having BB sing word for word Sir Mixalot's "Big Butts" still has me smiling)
Puppy, Norman and DH...the trip to Hollywood, Les Sisters for lunch and sushi at Niko Niko...Again DH, you were right...the chicken at Les Sisters is fantastic. Doing the Hollywood strip was way cool.( got my medics bag!=awesome). Niko Niko was fun and so good of Green, Grimm, Tambara and Cowboy to join us. Awesome of Puppy to remember it was DH's UnBirthday...he he he.....Sorry you were not able to make it Zone. (also DH, your home made beer was strong but delicious)...and a small memo to myself...when I hand off my camera for a moment...I best be prepared later to see SOMEONE used it to take crotch shots........
Burners- thank you so much for the steak supper and the laughs. Even the waitress had fun :). It was also great of you to stay after and join Cowboy, Puppy, Norman and I for drinks at Puppy's place. That is itself was excellent of you to do as we knew you had an early morning on Saturday. (note to self-jello shooters taste too good but are very difficult to do properly....)
Cowboy, Puppy, Norman-The air show..what can I say? I was like a kid in a candy store. Going there is style in the convertible, seeing all the planes and helicopters, getting excellent photos of the 43 willies and the 54 Jeep...excellent. Watching the B-Ho 57 and the "flying banana" take off at the end of the show is something I will remember for a long long time. Photos of the Bi-wings, the Piper cub, WW2 Avenger fighter plane etc..too good.....Going to supper for wings that evening and watching Norman mow down the "blazing" hot wings was fun and entertaining. LOL. Hope your backside has recovered by now Norman.
Puppy, Norman, Cowboy. Lunch and ice cream..Football Sunday as Puppy's brother's place, Supper at Ooka on the Habatchi grill. Excellent. It was wonderful your folks joined us Puppy.
Norman-side note here....thanks for the signed copy of my "sig" that you made for me. I'll have it framed this week to hang on my wall in my office.
I am trying to keep this simple and so sorry for the long post. I am just amazed at how much I saw and did for my week down in California. Getting off the plane to be greeted by Norman, Ebo, Puppy and Cowboy then to stop at an "In and Out" before even getting to Puppy's place before the party had me know my visit was going to be fantastic. Grimm, your dispenser costume was very well made and I am glad I got photos of DH and I standing with you. Although DH took liberties with you LOL, have to laugh because it was just too funny. Those that had costumes looked great. Billy, I did try a few times to do our little joke but each time I just started to laugh. Maybe next time.
To Norman, DH, Burners and Puppy. Taking time off from work/school to hang with me and show me the sights is greatly appreciated.
Gads I know I am forgetting people here on thanking them. If I have I apologize. This post is already far too long. I could easily add paragraphs more. It was good to hang with you on Sunday Askee, you are a very witty person and had me smiling often the next day, also Puppy's parents wanted you to know your desert was delicious. Cowboy, thank you for the beers, the wings and the jesting.
Just to close.....MuddPuppy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Every day was an adventure and you were so wonderful at helping me feel right at home. Beer runs, post office, playing pool, being the go between to make arrangements for things so we could all meet up....and on...and on...and on...you are simply an amazing lady and I am all the better for having a week to get to know you.
Thank you all,
A grateful and very content Canuck.
