Team Stackers Again?

I would realy like to know why you all are a bunch of team stackers... Willtallica changed to the other team just because a lot of "LKM" was on there, while Akai was auto to red and said "what ever, ill deal with it" why cant you all just stay to one side..and the fact that i watched a few sit in Spec while the teams were 15 vs 11 and just waiting to get on blue team (at the time this happen).. that sucks... fucking get a pair and stop and try to change the outcome of the match...its a fucking game..how many times do i get auto or do random or just pick the team that is down on players... and i dont care.. its a challange to me. if i join and i radom and gives me the side "LKM" is on..so be it.. but i know a lot of you watch me go to the other side and take you on...to the ones that have to be on the "LKMer's" side jut because they are there.. GET A PAIR ( DH,Mudd,Argie,Ebo,Norm,Burnerz,Billy,Hound,Dyehead , Livebait,Joltman, and Cowboy) you are the only ones that i dont care team stack..and i can name a few others that are newer members/ Admins.. and they dont care either.the true LKMers..LOL and thats one side taken care of.....all though i can say most that i named..will play on either side with out a care...top that shit !

Probably because it's an ongoing problem that makes the game less enjoyable for roughly half the people playing.

I don't know what's possible with server settings but 16vs14 should not be allowed (15vs13 is okay...unless it's that way due to people in spec trying to stack teams.). In instances where the game is unbalanced by a lot (16vs11 anyone?) the auto-balance should kick in much faster. As for people speccing until they get what they want...can't really do anything but ask admins to deal with it on a case by case basis. And no switching back teams for at least 5 minutes.

From now on any Team Stack bitching or moaning is a auto kick / ban (admin choice.)

This bull shit is the reason for Rule #2. Time and time again people bitch like they are on the noob team. If their head wasn't up there ass so much they would realize they have just as many Regs on their team as Regs on the other. Usually it's the same old shit, they see people with an LKM tag on and they assume they must all be good players and that explains why they are losing.

All bitching does is make people aware of issues that usually don't exist, like Stacking, lag or global warming.






No more bitching and whining about team stacking, and this is in reference to teams being uneven by numbers. Doesn't seem like anyone really cares about who is on what team, just if its 15vs15.

No more hanging out in spec. Those of you that are LKM need to follow this, no fucking questions. Those of you that are regulars and are apart of the community need to follow it too no questioning this.

Those of you that feel so strongly about uneven numbers, you can try to get people to move to keep the numbers even, but dont bitch and cry if it doesn't happen.

i'm sorry, but i play TF2, just like how i play all other GAMES, to have fun. i wouldn't be going to LKM if it weren't for the community. i REFUSE to be on a team of people who don't talk and who i don't even know. that defeats the purpose of why i play on LKM. if i was playing the game to play the game, i wouldn't be the reg on ANY server.

You just said there was no such thing as a team stack then described one...anyway, it's not a problem 95% of the time but the other 5% can be brutal with one team being down 3 players (16-14 then someone leaves and the new player sits in spec) and that can go on for half an hour or more. Not to mention you occasionally get an afk player on top of that.

Most people recognize there will be skill differences in the teams and they just have to do there best, what they do ask for is a fair game otherwise. I find that perfectly reasonable.

This my opinion. I really don't give a crap if one side has a butt load of regulars half of the lkm people suck anyways ( yes including me). It just pisses me off once the numbers get really stupid and it pisses me off when i hear people bitch when they get switched. I mean 16 to 13 i mean come now. At least have a heart and switch teams if you notice. Since I am a jr admin, my rules if i am on goes as follow. I will only switch a random person if the teams are off. For an example 16 to 13, 15 to 13, and so on. If the difference is two, I will randomly switch a person on the opposite team to the respected team. Should that person switch back, I will automatically kick them no questions asked. You got switched for a reason and for a person to bitch is semi ass hat therefore a kick. You don't have to worry though, I haven't been playing much. Damn school. If DH or a full admin disagrees with this then please say so, other than that I will take this into effect.

If you want to be on a team but it's full, join the other, and wait for an opening. You might enjoy the wrong side, you never know!

Otherwise, stack, whatever. It's just a game folks. I never auto, but I generally don't stack either. Sometimes I get on a team with friends, sometimes not. I generally try and play opposite Muddpuppy though, she loves when I backstab her.

We had a game last night where blue stomped red, then half of blue left and red cleaned up like 4 times in a row. Reds team didn't change, Blue just gave in and people started leaving. Stuff started to get balanced, red still won. No big surprise, I was on red.. but.. Whatever.

Play the game, have fun. Don't whine about shit that no one's gonna change, and that's not enforceable. Sorry RR, but shit's not gonna change in this regard!

River, i did not team stack cause lkm was on blue team....IM ALWAYS ON BLUE TEAM!! always, without a doubt! sorry its just an old habit. i dont care who's on my team or how many people are on my team, and i like it when my team has less people because its actually a challange for once, it doesnt matter what team im on, whatever team im on is gonna win, its just the way its gonna be.

There are so many times when I get autoswitched, I immediately go back to the other team. Why? because what I was accomplishing was for one team's benefit, and I didn't make a personal choice to switch. If I'm having a sniper battle with an opposing team's sniper, it makes no sense to be switched over to find no other snipers to fight. I don't know. Maybe its just because the classes i play most often (medic, sniper, scout), I always have a goal that makes me want to stick to a team. If I've invested enough time on one team attempting to get a flag or heal up my teammates, it almost makes me want to leave if I get switched over to the opposing team.

What I'm trying to say is if I would end up being kicked for switching back to a team where I've invested hours of my time attempting to win, I'm not going to be happy, and I don't find that fair.




As for Team Stacking, I see how its a bad thing, but its about as bad as friends wanting to hang out with friends. Someone most likely will always feel left out cause they're not on the cool team. Well, there is generally enough regulars on that all of us cant stack, and most people need to realize that you probably know people on either side. And sometimes its fun to go against everyone with a LKM tag (I try to see how many i can dominate :tongue:), But really, I cant ever get mad about seeing a group of people who like playing together group up. If that wasn't the case, we'd probably play a free-for-all game instead of TEAM Fortress.

Fonix I have no issues about what you just said and I agree with all of your points, but if you get auto'd stay. There is no point switching back, because the point of the auto switch is to keep the teams even, thats the bottom line. If the teams are uneven people start to leave. Just be glad that DH doesn't have the auto switch plugin where it is impossible for anyone other then an admin to switch teams after being autod. Like I said the team stacking issues is retarded, but uneven teams is a different story. If its a 15 14 ratio it doesn't really matter, but if its a stupid amount like 15 to 13 or 15 12 (yes it has happened before) then im switching a random person. In all honestly there is no way to please everyone so we all need to suck it about all this team stacking stuff.

At least it's not insta-respawn + alltalk. :doh: It's getting hard to find good vanilla servers with a 24 player limit, default respawn times, and no gameplay plugins/mods. When I do find them, they're frequently populated by mic spammers and hackers.

In some ways you are talking about two different things; team stacking where one team has significaltly more players than the other and talent stacking where all the best snipers, demos, or whatever are on the same team. All the pro talent on the other team is something you are just going to have to deal with. Just because you can't out snipe someone, they are not going to be switched to make your game easier. Team stacking is much easier to deal with and I personally like Tambara's idea, with one exception. When teams are significantly unbalanced, the last player to join the over populated team gets switched. This way, players with persistence on a certain team can stay there and continue what they have started (better than auto balance that does not necessarily take the last player that joined). Also, players who log into the game and sit in spec, waiting to get on a team will be kicked. If you come to play... then play. This will only happen when there is an admin in the game. And this guys is about all we can do about "team stacking". I used to not care about this shit at all but last week, for some reason, the auto balance was not working and at one point the teams were 16 to 10 and later 14 to 8. I was on the lesser team and it was no longer possible to even get out of respawn. And yes they capped 4 intels in a row... who could have guessed? Oh... and almost everyone left the server... Life is not fair... so what else is new? Eh...?

Argy was askin me what about if i thought that team stacking was a problem. So i told her she wasnt good enough to team stack so she shouldn't worry about it. <3 argy!

I also said that I really don't care what team i'm on because, the way i play, im all over both bases. So i feel like im playing with my team coordinating attacks and talking over chat and i feel like im playing with the opposite team cuz im fighting against them. and i steam message them when i get kills on them or get killed by them. basically im playing with everyone on the server doesnt matter which team im on.

a lot of the people that team stack play really defensively. AKA they dont leave their base. this definately makes it feel like you are only playing with the people on your team so why wouldnt you want to play with your friends. I say leave your base and go kill your friends cuz its more fun!

although i do try to join the opposite of biker's team just so they have to listen to him constantly talk about spies. lolz

leave your base and play against your friends. its just as much fun as playing with them.

This issue has come up before. Since this is the case I wanted to give it some serious thought. I do know many have certain opinions on this subject but do not wish to post on the forums as they may get dragged through the coals. Understanding this, I decided a little one on one talk with some of the others might help get some insight. As Billy had posted, the issue (which you talk about) is the uneven numbers. 17-12 etc.

Now my reply has always been that I wish to game with those I know, those I feel comfortable with and those I know won't berate me for being a woman and so on, I come to have fun. For me it was a "wanting to be comfortable while gaming" situation. I do not join the larger team when the numbers are badly uneven but I will join a 15 team when the other team is only 14... After speaking with others one to one, reading the opinions and thoughts of those open enough to post here and thinking on it...I see each point as valid.

Now I am not one to sit in spec but, I decided to look at it from a "new player" point of view. I wear the LKM tag because I like the people. Not for status. As such, I want those new to see LKM (tag and non tag regs) as I do.... Good people..... I will do what I can to switch teams when I see an unbalance so LKM is seen in a good light. It's the least I can do...and you never know...might meet some great peeps for the effort. :) I wont switch on a 16-14 but on a 16-11.

when i kill argy i know i get to sap and destroy a sentry a dispenser and 2 teleporters. thus its rewarding to have her respawn and have to rebuild all her stuff. and it only gets more rewarding after the 11th time...

i really don't think it's a big deal if one team has two more players than the other. when it's something like 5-12, i will switch because that actually makes a difference. having two more people doesn't mean you won unless the numbers are really small like 4-6

I like even teams. I try to make them as even as possible when I join. The game evens out eventually unless there's some serious spawn camping going on and it's almost closing time. Hell, I love it when my team is outnumbered. MORE TO KILL! :)
